“This election is about what’s going to happen when we elect Abdul to the United States Senate,” the congresswoman said at a University of Michigan event. “I am done, so don’t any reporter ask me again about Hasan Piker. It’s not what November is about.”
“The Republicans are trying to divide us,” she continued. “And we’ve got to stop letting them try to divide us. I don’t agree with Hasan Piker on a lot of stuff. And I really don’t agree with him on some of the women things he said. And I’m still trying to figure out is it the reason he exercises and looks buff is why he has so many followers. But having said that, I want to talk to you for a minute about what November is about…”
“November, I need Medicare for All in the United States House,” she said. “I believe that if you are sick in this country, you should be able to go to the doctor when you need to go to the doctor and get the medicine that you need. And we have left healthcare away from millions of Americans.”
“And we have hungry children in our district, in our state, and hungry seniors because of what the Republicans have done,” she added. “And we need to win in November and we will reverse all of the things that they have done!”
Bravo congresswoman! Fox News and CNN have been running nonstop, breathless coverage of popular leftist streamer Hasan Piker in a desperate attempt to turn him into a major news story. Simultaneously, several prominent Democrats have cravenly denounced Piker, caving to the Republican framing and the demands of the Israeli lobby, which hates Piker because he condemns their genocide in Gaza.
Outside of the mainstream media bubble where talking heads get paid millions of dollars to yap at each other and push the interests of corporations and Israel, Hasan Piker is a total non-issue with voters. He is not an antisemite as his most dishonest critics claim because there is nothing inherently antisemitic about criticizing Israel.
Voters don’t need Democrats to condemn Piker. Doing so makes us look weak, shows that we don’t defend our own, and proves that we are easily distracted. If we’re wasting time attacking him, we aren’t discussing Trump’s failed Iran War, the devastation he’s inflicted on our economy, the rampant corruption of his administration, or the fact that he’s a pedophile whose name is all over the Epstein files.
Voters want Medicare for All. They want their civil liberties protected from Trump. They want politicians who will prevent AI data centers from ruining their communities. They want their tax dollars spent here at home on roads and schools instead of bombs overseas. And they don’t want Democrats wasting their time smearing Hasan Piker!
